Mercury Media & Entertainment was founded in 1996 by Domenic D. Mercurio, Jr.
A native of Worcester, Mercurio has a background in non-profit development, fundraising and public relations. As the Director of Development and Public Affairs for the Alliance for Education, Mercurio focused on grant-writing for regional literacy efforts benefitting Pre-K and elementary school students. He also raised money for K-12 curriculum development and professional development programs for teachers, while writing press releases and interviewing with local media.
Mercurio has experience in business and public relations, also. As the Director of Public Relations for the BBB of Central New England, Mercurio worked closely with businesses from various industries, working to improve their standings in the community and their relationships with consumers. Mercurio also concentrated on event planning and media interaction.
At the Massachusetts State House, Mercurio assisted his superiors on public relations issues concerning important regional infrastructure projects and their impact on constituents.
For a decade, Mercurio was also managing partner for a wine importing company, and focused on growing the business through cost cutting, profit generation, brand development, distribution and sales, and import logistics.
Mercurio is also Chancellor of the Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel parish in Worcester, where he and other officers and members create and manage fundraisers for the betterment of the council and the church.
A member of the Screen Actors Guild, the Worcester County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association, and the recipient of the Junior Achievement’s “Top 40 Under Forty Award,” Mercurio enjoys working in the public arena and serving the greater good whenever possible, and has created Mercury Media & Entertainment for that express purpose.
Mercurio was educated in Boston at Suffolk University where he received an MBA in International Business, and at Worcester State College where he earned a BS in Business Management.
